Luxury holiday villas with private pools and apartments on Las Ramblas Golf Course, Orihuela Costa (Costa Blanca), direct from the owners. The perfect place for golf, fabulous beaches and total relaxation. Only 15 minutes from Murcia Airport and 40 minutes from Alicante airport!

Getting There

Directions from Murcia Airport

Follow the perimeter road around the airport to the exit and go straight over the roundabout.  At the next roundabout you will see the motorway signposted and you need to follow for Alicante/Torrevieja.  Join the motorway.  When you have been through the tunnel, start looking for an exit which says “Desea de Campoamor”,  Take this exit.  At the roundabout following the exit, follow the N332 road in the direction of Alicante/Torrevieja.  There is a big “ROCA” office on the corner.

Follow this road.  You will see two petrol stations on the right and the left.  Keep following N332 Alicante/Torrevieja.

When the road starts to climb uphill, you will see a large sign for a DIY store over to your left which says “BRICOTODO”.  When you see this, start looking for the next exit on your right (it’s not that easy to see) which should say “Campoamor”.

At the top of the exit ramp, turn sharp right and follow the road around to the right (a strange junction) crossing back over the top of the road you have just left and then turn left in front of the LA FRONTERA Mexican restaurant and BRICOTODO.

Follow this road for about 2 miles, round a few bends, past garden centres on the right and on the left (and villas on the right) and eventually you will go round a sharp bend to the left and start to descend sharply.  The entrance to Las Ramblas is straight ahead at the bottom of the hill.

Directions from Alicante Airport

On leaving the airport, take the motorway in the direction of MURCIA and CARTAGENA.  [When you come out of the hire car area, you need to turn right, across the service road and onto the main road.  Keep to the left (it’s one way) and turn left at the junction, where you’ll see it’s signposted ALICANTE/MURCIA/CARTAGENA motorway.  Upon joining this road, you filter to the left to join the road leading to the motorway.  Remember to follow CARTAGENA/MURCIA which is the exit after ALICANTE.]

Shortly after ELCHE/ELX  (not long after you have passed a petrol station), the motorway splits in two.  You need to stay in the right hand lane and follow CARTAGENA. Keep following this motorway for about 20 mins.  You’ll pass another couple of REPSOL stations and will come to a Motorway Toll ( €2.75)

Continue on the motorway – do NOT exit at Torrevieja.

After about 5 miles you will see an exit signposted LA ZENIA URBANISATIONES.  Take this exit.  At the exit there is another Motorway Toll (same fee).

Now you have a choice.  You can either follow the “Las Ramblas” sign at the roundabout or you can cut through Villamartín.  You probably want to learn both…. (option 2 is probably quicker)

Option 1

Turn right at the motorway exit roundabout (following Las Ramblas sign).  You will go into La Zenia.  You’ll see the Consum supermarket on your right with a big car park.  Continue to the roundabout and take the first exit signposted N332 Cartagena.

Continue on this road – over the first roundabout (Cabo Roig) and exit when you see the sign for CAMPOAMOR.

Turn right in front of the BRICOTODO store and the LA FRONTERA Mexican restaurant.

Follow this road for about 2 miles, round a few bends, past garden centres on the right and on the left (and villas on the right) and eventually you will go round a sharp bend to the left and start to descend sharply.  The entrance to Las Ramblas is straight ahead at the bottom of the hill.

Option 2 (probably shortest)

Turn left at the Motorway exit roundabout following signs for VILLAMARTĺN.  You will go along road with scrubland on right and houses on your left.

You will see a garden centre and Super Valu supermarket on your left and will come to a roundabout by the CAM Bank.  Take the second exit (11 o’clock) and pass the first shopping centre (Los Dolses) and then turn first left (signposted Las Ramblas) before the second centre (Rioja Centre) and you will be in a residential area with villas on your left and the canal on your right.  Road goes up and down quite a bit and there are some ferocious “sleeping policemen”.

Follow round sharp bend to the right at the end (over the canal) and then a further strange right hand bend and you will come to a t-junction.  Turn left and you go down the hill (scrubland on both sides) to a t-junction.

Turn left here and go down the hill past Réal Campoamor Golf Course entrance on your right, turning left at the roundabout before crossing the canal again, to the Las Ramblas entrance on your right.

Air Links

The area is very well served by air. There are two local international airports – Alicante (El Altet, 40 minutes from Las Ramblas by car) and Murcia (San Javier, 15 minutes from Las Ramblas by car).

Many good value flights can be found, especially if you book well in advance.

Both airports are small and easy to navigate around, but try and fly to Murcia if you can – it is so small that everything happens at double the normal speed and you can be in the apartment within 30 minutes of landing!

Of particular note:-

Fly to Alicante (and Murcia in the Summer) from many UK airports.  It’s always worth looking on the BA site, as there are often very cheap flights if you are prepared to be flexible with your dates. It’s always nice to fly with BA for the extra room on board and the pre-assigned seat – even if the onboard pizzas are getting boring

(www.flybe.com) Offer flights to Alicante from Birmingham and Exeter airports and Murcia from Guernsey.  From Norwich and Southampton airports they offer flights to both Alicante and Murcia.  There are often cheap fares to Southampton to Murcia in particular.

(www.easyjet.com) Fly to Alicante from Bristol, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton,  London Stansted, Newcastle and Nottingham East Midlands.  New flights to Murcia now operate from both Bristol and London Gatwick.

Fly daily from London Heathrow into Alicante, with connections from most major UK airports.  Good catering and comfortable seating!

Fly into Murcia from Dublin, East Midlands, Glasgow (Prestwick), Liverpool, London Luton and London Stansted.  Flights can be cheap, but beware of taking too much luggage.  Only 15 kilos is permitted per person and they always charge for excess luggage – this has been known to cost more than the flight!.

Fly to Alicante from Birmingham, London Gatwick, Luton and Manchester.   Fly to Murcia from Birmingham.  Service is good and seats are pre-assigned.  Food needs to be purchased on board, but is of a good standard.

Car Hire & Insurance

Car Hire
Both local airports offer the facilities of the usual international car hire companies. Although we have no affiliation with any of the companies listed below, we have used them and find them to be either good value, highly reliable or both!

We currently believe the best car rental deals and service are available from:

CarJet (www.carjet.com) have always given us good service in the past as have Holiday Autos (www.holiday-autos.co.uk) although not as easy to speak to as Carjet if you need to talk to someone in person.

An excellent local company at Alicante Airport is Centauro (www.centauro.net), who offer a discount to regular travellers.

Travel Insurance
For travel insurance we find Insure & Go (www.insureandgo.com) to be around 40% cheaper than Tesco's off the shelf products.
